Success with the Hot-Water Baths

After hearing Aajonus speak on interviews about the hot baths

[on the www.WeWant2Live.com site], we were convinced that we needed to do this therapy [see pg 286 of We Want To Live: the Primal Diet for details]. We have a big, deep bathtub. It's 25 years old, and we never used it. So, we got a candy thermometer to check the water temperature. We keep the water temp between 106 and 108 degrees. It takes 2 loads of hot water to fill up the tub. We drain one hot-water-heater load into the tub, cover the tub (with a make-shift cover) to hold in the heat while the water heater heats up another load -- then we drain that load into the tub.

It registers around 108 degrees when we get into the tub.

We just slide the cover back and get into the tub, with our heads sticking out. (Only one of us can get into the tub at a time.) You stay very warm that way. We also heat up the bathroom with our electric space heater, so it's warm in the room to begin with. I have only worked up to 10 to 15 minutes, and Keith up to 20. But, we go a second step. Right after we get out of the tub and dry off, we immediately get into a bed in a warm room, and wrap ourselves (including our heads) in towels and blankets for half an hour (or more if we fall asleep). We look like mummies with a small breathing hole over our face. Boy do we sweat! We have a regular infrared sauna that we used to use, and we never sweated like we do in the hot bath and bed. We switched over to the hot bath after we heard Aajonus say that he felt the sauna was too high a temperature.

Keith has had some amazing detoxes through this. During his third hot-bath-bed session, he was smelling the organic solvent toluene coming out of his breath. He started smelling this while he was in the hot bath, and it continued on during the bed-sweating session. Over 35 years ago, my husband worked for several years in a plastic manufacturing plant as a chemical engineer. Without mask or fan, he breathed in toluene and other bad chemicals 8 hours per day.

This stuff was detoxing out of his body.

It was amazing to us, after all these years, -- to the point where he could smell it. It's funny -- he hasn't smelled it since, during any of the subsequent hot-bath-bed sessions. Another amazing detox episode was this past week, during his weekly hot-bath-bed-sweating session. He started feeling bad when he was soaking in the water -- just feeling yucky. Shortly after he got wrapped up in his "mummy" outfit in bed, he started violently chilling and shaking. I turned up the heater in the room, and put a lot more blankets on him. His forehead was not hot to the touch, so I knew he wasn't running a high temperature. He started having an "acid" stomach, which is not normal for him. He said he felt like he was getting a Dengue Fever flashback. (He contracted Dengue Fever -- a mosquito born infection like malaria -- while he was in high school in India. At that time, he had violent chills and shakes for 2 days. That was 47 years ago.) He has never had chills and shakes in all these years until this episode. This lasted for about 5 hours. We figure he was detoxing the Dengue Fever, because it was the same symptoms.

Between the Primal Diet and Hot Baths, we are seeing quick results.

We remember that Aajonus said that sometimes the body will dump it's toxins into the stomach to be neutralized by the stomach acids. During the 5 hours of chills and shakes, his stomach stayed very acid -- almost feeling like throwing up. He stayed in bed much of the next day, feeling wiped out and not hungry. But, the chills and shakes and reactions were over. So, we feel he had gone through another major detox.
The reason we get into bed to sweat after the hot baths is because of an incident I had when I was in High School. One time I had flu symptoms real bad. I took a real hot bath, because I was aching so bad. And then got into my bed,,, And I started sweating in the hot bed. After this I felt so much better. So, when Aajonus talked about the hot baths, I though about my experience in high school, and thought we should add the bed-sweating session to the hot-bath session. :o)

How to detox naturally

And Build Health With A Good Raw Food Diet.

Building Health and Detoxing on a raw food diet are two things that can occur together, only because of how our bodies respond to raw food. This way of eating which we call the Primal Diet, could even be called "how to detox naturally". There is no question that these bodies of ours are trying to survive the onslaught of industrial, food, airborne, and other toxins (sometimes self-induced toxins if only in the form of excess food and drink), to remain alive and healthy and to function for a very long time!
But back to our subject of building health and detoxing: on the one hand, our bodies are nourished by the raw, unadulterated fats carbohydrates and proteins we eat. On the other hand the raw fats naturally bind with toxins and escort them safely out of the body. For example we have heard Aajonus Vonderplanitz say often, that taking a sugar cubed size chunk of raw unheated and unsalted cheese, encourages the body to dump toxins in to the stomach, which the cheese then "mops up". Then of course we follow this up about 10 minutes later with other good quality raw food, which nourishes us.
That could either be freshly juiced vegetables, or a meat meal, or a fruit smoothie, etc. One overlooked factor in all this is that it happens so gently on a raw food diet--relatively speaking, compared with other historical methods (whether they were/are effective or not) like leaching, cupping, fasting and more modern procedures like chemo-coctails, and other highly toxic drug compounds and in the other extreme, cleanses. There seems hardly a risk to the raw food regimen, since these foods can be so delicious to eat, and also easy to prepare. Please see the book called "The Recipe For Living Without Disease". There is also little to no risk when we consider that this type of raw food detox diet can be added to any ongoing health routine. Aajonus Vonderplanitz has often said that we shouldn't attempt to force or speed up a detox, since it happens well enough anyway. Evidently he has reserved speeding up a detox diet for a few brave and healthy souls like himself and close compatriots, who have been on the raw food diet for some time, and who might not mind some of the reactions! He even gives ways of slowing down a detox to avoid those reactions. Please refer to his book "We Want To Live". But to FEEL the results of good health that are available by eating the raw food detox diet, is a wonder in itself, when we consider that a state of good health is really our birthright, and is at the foundation of everything we do every day!

Chronic Fatigue & Hpoglycemia Improves With Raw Diet

I felt food was making us sick. I spent 10 yrs eating clean square meal diet of cooked meat, fruits & vegetables. I was not satisfied with that, because I had chronic fatigue & hypoglycemia really bad. The hypoglycemia affected me because my blood sugar was constantly dropping, making me irritable and overemotional.

I constantly had to make sure that I ate at a certain time all day every day 24/7 or I would crash. It was very restrictive and I was very sensitive. I was introduced to one kind of raw foods diet by some sites, and decided to become a vegetarian, then I felt fruitarian would be easy and better. I had met a person who had been a fruitarian for over 35 years so I started to emulate him.

I was a fruitarian for seven months before I finally was so malnourished and deficient that I thought I was going to die. My heart was beating out of my chest, I was hyperventilating and my body was in "alarm" mode - anything I tried to do differently, my whole body would react. This sent me to the hospital....I knew being a fruitarian was too extreme.

I was about to go back to the cooked food, when I talked to someone who mentioned Aajonus to me. I went to his website. I read his testimony about raw meat and raw dairy, within 20 minutes, I knew that I knew. That was my problem right there. I had never heard of that, my family had never heard of that, everyone thinks you've lost it.

I was craving it. I was malnourished and in starvation mode. After the first seven days I knew for sure this was what I was supposed to do. Then I met with Aajonus to make sure I knew what I was doing this time. In the past I had just gone off without anybody who knew what I was
doing.I went to my naturopath as well because he had been my naturopath for years. I knew he wouldn't steer me wrong. He said "Norma, do not be ashamed of raw meat." He Oked this diet.

Now it has been a year and two months. My weight has balanced, which I severely needed. All my conditions have improved. I am much stronger, with more clarity; my memory has improved.I have had various detoxification periods all of which were definitely worth it. By sticking to it and not quitting, but doing what Aajonus had said, I would come out of it at a new level. Now each bad condition is either much better or has gone altogether.

After this last detox period, I was able to jump up and down and dance a lot. I could dance so much better without any stiffness in my knees. Now I know that nothing is acceptable other than the raw food diet because in this generation and the world we live in... our food is so toxic that we have to be extreme. Most significantly Aajonus' diet has calmed
me and made me much less emotional and more focused, more determined and more tolerant of people in my life, including co-workers and family... My children are better off. That is one of my motivating factors: I want to be the best I can for the people around me because I know my behavior affects people around me."
