"The Right To Choose Healthy Food" makes headlines

The following articles about our right to choose healthy food speak for themselves. I suggest you have a little raw unsalted cheese handy (or a barf bag) in case any of this may make you queasy. Highlights include 30 seconds of agents entering a co-op in Venice, California. There is a lot of detail and a lot of good blogging in these. You will see where Aajonus' advice has been followed and where Aajonus' advice has not been followed to the regret of all concerned.

The War Over Raw Milk: A Battle Heats Up

Here is what Aajonus said in 2001, excerpted from an essay entitled "The Microbe Challenge":

"It is up to us to help every one we know to discern between the real threats to our health like conventional medicine and the imaginary threats like microbes. I honor all of the many people I know who have awakened out of their individual microbe-nightmares. Each one has found her or his way out of the quagmire by educating her/himself and then questioning, challenging and ultimately relieving of duty the microbe-doctors.

"Conventional medical science and the vested interests they serve is the biggest threat to the health of the world! Will people in government recognize the real monsters and the real threats before it is too late? The ball is now in your court, Supervisors. Will you, the ultimate rulers of County Health Services, vote in favor of our health, or the medical-establishment defended by health officials dictating their dogma?

"Hidden in plain sight is the alarming fact that we are more likely than not actively or passively participating in our own demise. Consider these assertions seriously; our health is at stake. Supervisors, please ask yourselves: How will I participate in health? Will I allow freedom of choice and equal protection, or will I choose health-demise dictated by unproved science?

The Right To Choose Healthy Food

This is part of a Press Release that was issued by Dr. Aajonus Vonderplanitz, PhD., Nutrition.

DO PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE HEALTHY FOOD?
One group of about 800 well-educated Los Angeles people believe they do. The group has many doctors, lawyers and teachers. They have rejected all health department regulations for food preparation. They want food that has not been touched or exposed to chemicals of any kind. All food producers and markets today expose their foods, especially meats and dairy to chemicals of all kinds, from iodine and ammonia to bleaches. Plus most have been grown with pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers and treated with additives.

This group of intelligent, health-conscious individuals calls their food club Right To Choose Healthy Food RAWESOME Club. They claim to have done their science homework that proves raw dairy is healthful and pasteurized dairy causes diseases from reports by the only true scientists of raw and pasteurized dairy Dr. William Campbell Douglass, Jr. M.D. and Aajonus Vonderplanitz, Ph.D. Nutrition. Both have not only had years of experience drinking raw milk themselves without incidents, they have observed and experimented with raw dairy for more than 40 years each with patients. Never have they seen an incident of food-poisoning from raw milk. They claim that medical doctors, FDA and CDC authorities have no experience with raw milk but plenty of prejudice against it because of the bad propaganda produced and paid for by the the pasteurized dairy industry early in the 20th century that falsely claimed raw milk caused typhoid and tuberculosis.

Last Wednesday, agents of USFDA, Los Angeles Prosecuting Attorney's office, California State Agriculture and Los Angeles County Health departments raided the food group and closed them down. They cited a lack of food health permits as cause but USFDA and California State were involved who have no jurisdiction over lack of county health food permit. Right To Choose Healthy Food's president and general manager Aajonus Vonderplanitz says that authorities want to ban raw dairy. Authorities confiscated mostly raw dairy products at the food club. Their warrant gave them permission to take samples for testing, such as vials or a bottle or two of each but authorities confiscated - Aajonus claims the correct word is stole - 17 huge coolers (3 ft X 1.8 ft. each). Mr. Vonderplanitz stated that authorities have been brainwashed against raw milk without any direct experience. They constantly claim that raw milk causes disease but have no science to support their clams.

Rawesome Club's members have leased animals and fields to own their own produce, so that it will be grown, produced and prepared the way they want it, healthfully. They pay the farmers for their services, including cultivating, boarding animals, collecting and packaging the foods members own for members only. Their club is not in the business of commerce; no one but the owners of the food - the members - get the food. Since members already own the food it is not commerce. Government has jurisdiction over commerce.

Los Angeles County Health Services tried to close the club in 2005 for the same reason but were informed that they had no jurisdiction and that no permits were required; members rejected health regulations for their own food. Now 5 years later, the same department accompanied by federal and state departments have repeated their stance that Rawesome operates without permit and it must have a permit., Mr. Vonderplanitz states, "We are ready to go to court to fight this. We have the right to healthy food the way we want it. Government does not have the right to tell us what we can eat and whether we are allowed to be healthy. They should mind their own business and follow the law. We are not in their jurisdiction. We have the right to eat healthy food."

"The Primal Diet is Health-giving"...

I’ve been on The Primal Diet for almost four years and have found it
very health-giving. No more achy back pain, gum disease, fibroids,
hormonal imbalances and other ailments I have already forgotten I had.
Using food as my medication is so freeing. Right now I am treating my
symptoms (and diagnosis by a rheumatologist) of rheumatoid arthritis
with diet, occupational therapy exercises, and meeting my emotional
needs head-on, not by taking steroids. After ten months on this
regimen, I feel that I am about 90% healed. I highly recommend taking
the time to explore what Aajonus Vonderplanitz and The Primal Diet can
offer for your improved and lasting health. My goal is not necessarily
to live longer, but to feel well every day, which is how I feel.
